Facility Rental

We are pleased to offer our historic facility as a venue for special events, performances, and/or meetings. When available in between exhibitions, we rent the gallery to generate modest revenue for our programs and to provide an affordable venue for community activities. Contact us via email at info@modernfuel.org at your earliest convenience to inquire about your rental requirements and preferred booking dates. Please note Modern Fuel may refuse rental requests based on exhibition programming and gives preference to arts organizations.

We are located in the J.K. Tett Centre, a City of Kingston-owned heritage building on the Lake Ontario waterfront. Part of an arts hub that includes the Queen’s University world class performing arts facility, the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning is a not-for-profit arts organization made up of tenant groups and community members. Both the J. K. Tett Centre, and the adjacent Stella Buck Building, originally formed part of the Morton Brewery and Distillery complex that was reputed to be the largest of its kind in North America during the mid-19th century.

Please visit the Tett Centre website for more information on the building's history, affiliated rental venues and our neighbouring arts organizations.
